Want to Minimise the Impact of Your Sport?

The Challenge

Sports is a billion-dollar industry. It transcends barriers of race, gender, income, and politics, reaching every corner of the globe.

However, sports events can also negatively impact the environment. This was first acknowledged back in 1994 at Norway's Winter Olympics where environmental considerations were integrated into event planning, design, and construction—marking the first ‘Green Games.’

This shaped the current sustainability strategy by the International Olympic Organizing Committee. Today, many organizations in the sports industry have committed to reducing their environmental impact.

ZOTEN is actively involved in this effort, establishing sports and sustainability initiatives in Greece and throughout Europe. Our philosophy leverages the cultural and financial power of sports to raise awareness about their environmental impact, promote initiatives to reduce their the ecological footprint, and drive meaningful social change within communities in a measurable way.

How Do We Do It?

Our approach is to work with you to create a tailor-made sustainability policy to guarantee accountable and sustainable management of your project. This typically entails:

  • Putting your organisation at the forefront of social change

  • Navigate your team through the steps needed to identify your sustainable position

  • Understanding how your stakeholders can benefit (and convincing them)

  • Pinpointing the appropriate techniques required for the implementation of sustainable practices

  • Providing your team with the tools and know-how towards a more sustainable future for all

  • Setting up a framework to measure outcomes so you can track results

The aim of a sustainable sport event is that its impact continues long after event-day. Post-implementation of your organisation's robust sustainability policy, your organisation will be equipped with a competitive edge while making a huge difference in protecting future generations who want to continue playing or spectating.
