Climate Literacy Certification
ZOTEN, in collboration with the Carbon Literacy Project, offers a day’s worth of Carbon Literacy® learning, covering – climate change, carbon footprints, how you can do your bit, and why it’s relevant to you and your community and workplace.
Carbon Literacy®: “An awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.”
The Carbon Literacy Project is globally unique – there is nothing else quite like it anywhere. It was recognised as such by the UN at COP21, in Paris, where it was awarded as a TAP100, one of 100 worldwide Transformative Action Programs.
Sustainable Filming
The film industry inspires, influences and entertains millions of people worldwide, but this comes at a significant cost to our planet. Thousands of tonnes of carbon are emitted with each production project in addition to the enormous amount of unaccountable waste. Our industry not only has the leverage to motivate but to set new standards throughout the audiovisual industry by working more efficiently and collaboratively. ZOTEN is equipped to assist your company in reducing its overall footprint through innovative initiatives and skills that will create a legacy for future generations.
Sustainable Beaches
ZOTEN is actively engaged in promoting initiatives that reduce the ecological footprint of beachside establishments in Greece, one of the country’s primary selling points in the tourist market. Through this, we aim to raise awareness of tourism’s impact on the environment, and by extension, raise awareness in the communities themselves: in short, to affect meaningful social, environmental and economic change.
Events & Festivals
Public events, such as conferences and/or festivals can leave a significant environmental footprint – by consuming energy, water and other natural resources, generating waste, causing air pollution, and indirectly contributing to climate change through greenhouse gas emissions.
Fortunately, they also have the potential to leave a positive legacy in addressing the global sustainability crisis. Promoting sustainability by implementing sustainable criteria leverages an invaluable tool for raising public awareness, disseminating knowledge and promoting values in line with sustainable development.
Producing sustainable events demonstrate positive effects on the society, environment as well as creating a positive image for the organization through good practice examples.
A ‘green’ event is one that is designed, organized and implemented so that potential negative impacts are mitigated in addition to leaving a lasting legacy for the host community and all the stakeholders involved.
